calendars

At Norcross Pictorial Calendars we take pride in the fact that we use environmentally friendly products to make our calendars. Minimising our utilisation of non-renewable resources and maximising recycling opportunities are the principles on which our Environmental Policy has been founded.

Paper

We primarily use Ambassador paper which contains 100% virgin fibre that is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certified. We have initiated the process to be a Certified Printer under these regulations.  The manufacturing process operates under an Environmental Management System that is Certified by ISO 14001 and is Elemental Chlorine Free.

The balance is virgin fibre from approved forests and controlled, non-controversial wood sources and is made using an Elemental Chlorine-Free (ECF) bleaching process.

Larger off cuts are stored and distributed free to local schools and kindergartens.

All waste paper is collected regularly by a local recycling company.

Chemicals

Where it is possible, our policy is to purchase water soluble chemicals. Those chemicals which cannot be disposed of via normal waste water systems is stored in metal drums. They are then collected by a waste management company to be disposed of safely.

We use non-solvent based inks and wash-up solutions where possible. We also use soy/vegetable based inks depending on the application and end use of the product.

Other Waste

Our policy is to limit land fill waste. Paper and cardboard waste, metal waste, plastic waste, and wood pallet waste are separated and recycled with various local recycling companies. We also recycle our green waste from the gardens with a local garden recycler. There is minimal residual waste product and is disposed of via a waste removal company.
